Globalization

Well, in order for globalization to happen, first of all God must think that it is about time for the Antichrist to take over the earth because as soon a complete globalization happens, the end times will be happening. Another thing that is needed is a common ground of peace. The average muslim is not out to slaughter every heathen that walks by, but there is a big enough amount of jihadists that will do everything they can to inflict as much terror and violence and rebellion against the world. So in order for globalization to happen, one (actually many) side needs to be willing to give up their beliefs for peace. Globalization can, hypothetically speaking, be good or bad in the sense of, globalization for Christ, and globalization against Christ. Either way is still as far as we can tell a long way off from happening however, we are not the ones in charge of everything going on. I do not think that in the present state of the world that complete globalization will take place because I still think that God is working in the world. I think when globalization takes place, the world will be how it was before God wiped it out. Nothing a little flood can't fix.

Senior Europe Trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To say that I am most exciting about just one thing would be tough so I'm going with general. I really am just excited to be able to go to Europe at all. All of the history and legend of European life is cool to go see. It will be cool to go to London and see Big Ben(not Wallace...no relation), after all just 250 years ago we were under the rule of England. We could be talking like that with their cool accent. And it will be cool to see France to see the Effiel Tower and Paris, the city of love. Everyone knows they're lovers, not fighters. It will also be cool to be on the beaches of Normandy and be in the trenches of WWII. I am just completely exstatic that we are going and in one week from TODAY!!! Props to Mr. Lockhart and EF Tours for this amazing oppurtunity!!

Starbucks- Pretty Sweet Service

According to many sorces including meryl.net and consumeraffairs.com, starbucks is the best customer service you will find when it comes to coffee. From their friendly hello when you walk into the stores to speedy email replies to requests. Although the stores are found on every street corner and the business is one of the biggest in the nation, they care immensly upon the goal of giving outstanding costomer service. Their stores are open most hours of the day and make really good drinks. If they don't make the drink like you like it you just send it back to a smiling face so they can try it again. They also will give out free drinks of any size if they mess up real bad. It is very impressive when they know people by name and can have conversations with them. They also care about schools. They came to my high school in order to give a small seminar on leadership and what you can do to get jobs and accel in them. Overall, i would like to go to starbucks than any other coffee joint not only because of good coffee but because of good service.

Police Chief Gives Himself Ticket

In Kewaskum, Wisconsin, Police Chief Richard Knoebel accidentally ran passed a stopped school bus with its lights flashing. He had his emergency lights on going after the bad guys(aka changing lanes in order to not rear end a truck) when he did not realize that there was a stopped school bus. He screamed by knowing full well that it was illegal. He then fined himself $235 and marked down 4 points on his driving records. "If it brings notice to people that they should be stopping for school buses, I don't mind the notoriety," he said. Although he was most likely the hall monitor at school, it is nice to see good works being done. Whether he did it to gain publicity or he genuinely did it, it is a good example none the less. It is also good to see because so often, the cops that you see driving around town are the worst drivers and breaking the law the most.

State of the Union

First i would like to say that there is much too many standing ovations and applauses. I did not see the adress on television, but just reading (applause) after every other sentence gets annoying, can imagine pausing and hearing each applause. I thought some good things were that he would like to cut taxes to help single people afford insurance but i don't know how smart it is to leave the governors money to their descression. I also think that doubling the amount of border patrol is a good idea however i think that making it easier for imagrants to come across the border almost defeats the purpose of the border patrol. Whether they are citizens or not, illegal and legal imigrants will continue to come into the contry. I like the fact that the president wants to steer away from foriegn oil and rely more on our own oil. It is easier for terrorists to manipulate the flow of oil when contries like Libia or Iran are in charge of it. I respect the fact that no matter how much the president is ridiculed, he stands behind the things that he chose such as putting troops in Iraq. He, whether he has a choice or not, is supporting the desicion of the war on terror. The rest of the adress is talking about people that do good things and talking about how great the people of America are.

Hillary For President!

Hillary R. Clinton has made an entry into one of the most numerous runnings for the US presidency. I was personally thinking about running but I decided not to because I'm not liberal enough to win. She is reportedly "In and in to win". She would be both the first woman to be the POTUS and the first spouse of a former POTUS to become the president. He big thing at this point is to put a cap on the number of troops in Iraq and focus more on putting troops in Afghanistan. She decided to make a push after President Bush made the decision to put 22,000 additional troops in Iraq.
She announced her engagement in the running on January 20th, exactly 2 years prior to when the inauguration of the new president in 2009 happens. Pretty slick move I suppose but I am not sure it will help her win the election. She and Barack Obama have already been slinging back and fourth at eachother a bit. This is good news for the Republicans because they do not have to create any new Clinton or Obama bashes, because the Democrats will have given them enough ideas from bashing eachother! At this point 51% of Americans said no matter what they will not vote for the woman which means that she's not too popular. Only 34% of American even vote so who knows. I think that it would be really cool to have a woman president but there are some things wrong with Hillary. For example, she's not a black lady, her name's not Condi Rice, and she cannot think her way out of a box; other than that she FANTASTIC!!!

17th-22nd Amendments

17th Amendment-The 17th amendment made it possible for senators to be elected by popular vote rather than having state legislatures make decisions for them. This way the people knew that they were actually having a say in things rather than having a some guys you don't know chose your senators.

18th amendment-The 18th amendment outlawed alcohol(aka prohibition). Bad things happen through alcoholism such as increased crime, drunk driving, murders, rapes, etc. Unfortunately, this is a perfect example of magical thinking because on paper it looks good but in reality it just does not work. They thought that if they just took away a cause of increased crime, crime would just go away, but all it did was make a chance to break another law. People who never would have ever wanted to drink, were suddenly regulars at the local speakeasy.

19th Amendment-The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote. Women had been pushing women's suffrage and slave' s right to vote and it was a slap in the face when they allowed blacks to vote after passing the 15th amendment in 1870. It was a big step for women's influence on America. Another big reason they received the right to vote was because population was so low after so many died in WWI and in the influenza epidemic. Now presidents could be elected because of their good looks!

20th Amendment- The 20th amendment is known as the 1st FDR amendmemnt. Hoover had drastically dropped in popularity and basically the people wanted a new guy in the presidency. It is to shorten the "lame duck" period if there is one. It moved inaugurationfrom March to January.

21st Amendment-The 21st amendment is short and sweet and gets rid of the 18th amendment. Prohibition was a smart idea on paper but you can't ratify something that you really can't enforce.(aka a dumb idea in real life, aka magical thinking)
